VW Technician Hiring in Livonia, MI

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Retrieve repair orders from the dispatcher and take cars to the proper stall area.
• Carry out the work outlined on the work order with accuracy and efficiency, staying within the confines of all dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Perform repairs as authorized after the proper diagnosis of all malfunctions.
• Obtain the necessary parts for your work from the Parts Department.
• Label and set aside parts so that they can be turned in when the work is under warranty or when the customer requests it.
• Alert the service advisor to changes in the job’s schedule, such as when the job needs more time when the work is not necessary, or when the work cannot be completed in the given time.
• Make sufficient documentation of your work.
• Use road tests to assess the repair and resolution of any reported complaints.
• Perform quality checks on all work performed.
• Get to assigned training classes.
• Stay up-to-date with all factory technical bulletins.
• Make sure that the customers’ cars stay clean throughout the work process.
• Properly administer all housekeeping and safety procedures and policies.
• Know and follow all regulations governing automotive repair and service work, including federal, state, and local guidelines.
